Gotta love this kid

Apparently I left my blog up and running and the oldest decided to blog on it for me. What sweet thoughtful touching words he used. Anyone wanna bet he wants something? J/K! But I am glad to know that he loves me ...it's like pulling teeth to get them to say it when you want it. I thank the Lord for giving me 3 boys to love and whom love me in return. God is great!

COOLEST MOM

This is Kyle, her oldest son (Favorite). I know i have the coolest mom ever because she loves me with all her heart! My mom is the best of all and she cares so much about me. I LOVE HER so much and she does so much for me i dont show or tell her enough how much i appreciate her! She doesnt know im posting this blog and thats the funny part! I love my mommy she is the coolest mom and totally awesome! I LOVE YOU MOMMY!

10 cent words

While driving home yesterday from picking Kyle up at play practice I could swear that our minivan was making a peculiar sound. I stopped at the school exit stop sign and ran around the car checking all tires. Good to go there! I hop back in the van and begin to drive again. I then turn down the radio and lean over the steering wheel with my head at a tilt to take another listen. Then my son Kyle asks me what I am doing. I tell him that I hear something and that I am taking a closer listen. With that he too leans forward and tilts his head so that we are now facing each other (apparently nobody was watching the road). With heads tilted he then looks me straight in the eye and says, "Mom you are delusional". What? I know what the word means but I was unaware that my son knew the word too. Then a quick quiz.... tell me what it means. Like a dictionary he rattles off a definition. "Now spell it", here again he belts out the correct spelling. Public educational is working ;-) Even if it is used to indicate that you believe your mother is nuts & hearing things!

Anyway

Let's start off with the phrase that hits me the most in this song. "God is great, but sometimes life ain't good. When I pray it doesn't always turn out like I think it should but.... I do it anyway."

How fitting that sentence. We all go through way the bible calls trials and tribulations. Most of us rebound quickly and some of use gasp for air and finally come through with the bumps and bruises of life to show. My life feels like a never ending roller coaster. There are high times with happiness and joy. There are low times with pain and sorrow.

This song really touched me! I have many sad days and I am quickly reminded that at any point my Dear Lord could call me home and all the unfinished business could have waited. That my family is the most important piece of my puzzle along with God and that as long as those two are intertwined we can get through just about anything.

Take a listen to this beautiful song...... brings tears to my eyes each and every time

Shout Outs

Apparently I am taking shout out requests now. I received an e-mail from my much loved sister-in-law with an inquiry as to where her picture was and a request for a personal blog post. So here it goes! To Carolyn my favorite sister-in-law (my only :-)) I bequeath to you my loving admiration as the best Aunt my children could have (again your the only....no competition :-) ). Just busting your chops! Seriously we do love and appreciate all you do for us. The free lodging accommodations in NY, the gifts you send the kids, the babysitting ( By the way when are you coming down so we can make the needed sitting accommodations?) Although I hope you are in a better position to babysit then the photo posted. This was the way you were the last time you were seen with the kids!

Blah about re-runs

I can hardly stand the re-runs now. How much longer can this strike go on? I'm not that much of a T.V. watcher but this is just now starting to affect me. I need to see new episodes of my favorite shows: "Brothers & Sisters","ER", "Criminal Minds". At this point there is probably only 1 or 2 more new episodes to be seen before the seasons end. Will I really have to wait until the Fall to pick back up again with the story lines? That seems like forever to me at this point. And all the reality shows are beginning to pluck my nerves. Oh Well! I suppose this is a good time to enjoy a good book, read a magazine, exercise (I must being going mental now). Suppose I'll go channel surf and find overpaid actors with underpaid writers on a shows episode I could swear I have seen twice now.

John Lennon sighting

Unlike all the folks whom have claimed to see Elvis in coffee shops and 7-eleven's, I have spotted the late John Lennon on the side of Rt. 13. And get this he was dressed as Uncle Sam. Apparently Liberty Tax was able to horn-swaggle him into a gig standing along the highway in a Uncle Sam costume waving to all that passed by. Complete with scruffy beard, long light brown hair and the notorious round sunglasses. I slowed down to wave and gawk. Surely this guy realizes his uncanny resemblance to the former Beatle. From that moment on I thought of just about every song I could think of that had anything to do with Lennon. "Strawberry Fields", "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band", "Give Peace a Chance". Then it dawned on me..... what an oxymoron. Lennon was against popular politics and government affairs. I'm sure he was against taxes. Well I suppose even the Lennon look a-like's out there need a job too. Rock on Liberty "Tax Man".

Decluttering

Time to spring clean. I like to tackle each individual room as if were just received orders to a new base. Get rid of what we don't use, want or would not travel with. All this purging really makes me feel good. The rooms seem less chaotic and I know that the items we are removing will go to a good cause at our local Goodwill. However there is a bit of sneakiness to all of this. I always have to declutter when Tom is not home. That man is a true pack rat. He will keep anything for possible future use. We can't get anything past him. I personally ransacked his t-shirt drawer today. He had to have had 100 t-shirts. Some were even bought before we married almost 10 years ago. YIKES! I'm sure he won't miss them as half of them had holes, spots, etc... Well I had better run. Need to tackle the teenagers room as well while he's not home. Wonder if anyone will notice. :-)

Friday if Finally here

Not sure about you folks but this Friday seemed to take entirely too long to get to. It could be the sheer anticipation of a 3 day weekend ahead or just the exhaustion of dredging through each work day. But, YIPPEEE!!! Friday is here and my relaxation can begin. No wait! I have three kids to take care of and instead of kicking back and relaxing I'm: playing taxi cab driver from play practice, entertaining a overnight sleepover, dishing out breakfast to my own as well as 100's at a pancake breakfast, running to church, washing the dog, the sheets, etc... Calgon take me away!!!!!

BRRRRRRR!!!

I don't know about you folks, but I believe Jack Frost has made his way into Delaware. While snow falls all around the surrounding area, we here in Kent County get nothing. Not that I'm complaining too much. I do enjoy cuddling under a blanket with a hot cup of tea, reading a magazine while I watch the snowflakes fall. However I hate all the tracked in snow, wet socks & brown yucky snow mess that ends up as the final result. I may be lucky this year and bypass all of that if we continue to stay in this "No Snow" belt we've been in. Maybe I shall do a snow dance out front for the kids in hopes of a snow day. Better not.....the neighbors would really get a kick out of me in my PJ pants, long john top and polka-dotted robe with matching slippers. I don't want them laughing too much at the over-sized clown doing a jig on the front lawn. Better leave it up to the big man upstairs instead.

Big Girl Panties!

I should be singing praises for losing 17 pounds. However today made me stop and think. My jeans that I wore to work today were very loose and kept sliding down my waist. Dragging along with it my panties. (I'm in desperate need of a "black" belt to keep my droopy drawers up). Anyways all day long at the preschool I have been yanking up my droopy drawers along with my undergarments before they wrangle themselves any farther down. Apparently one of my three year old students had witnessed me tug at my undergarments and saw them now resting above my jeans. To this she says, "Ms. Ellen you have big girl panties on". At this moment I want to bend down and have this dear angelic faced child render a definition to the word "Big".

Cellphones.... drive me CRAZY!!!

Correction............. teenagers drive me crazy and cellphones are simply an accessory. What would teenagers today do without high tech gadgets that allow them to communicate with others of their species. What happened to simply picking up a land line and calling the other person. No they would rather sit on their bottoms and have endless conversations about nothing that could simply be wrapped up into a 2 minute phone call. As I preach my beliefs on this matter to my teenager I receive the response "Land lines are so over-rated". What's next in this world? Perhaps when he's a father kids then too will have new gadgets to both waste their time and money on. There I'm off my soap box.

It all began with a blog!

And so life begins for me in the blogging world. A way to vent and share with all I know and love. For those of you who already know me.... there is no secret, I am computer illiterate. So this may be a pain-staking project. But I promise to work hard and not let my ignorance for computer stuff shine through too often. And so I begin the journey............
